Police, MVD launch initiative to decongest key NH corridor

The Traffic police and the Motor Vehicles department are working together to ease congestion on NH 544 in Kalamassery. By creating signal-free junctions and reducing the number of points where vehicles cross or merge, they have already seen improvements in traffic flow. Efforts are also being made to decongest junctions along the Edappally-Aroor NH 66 Bypass. Motorists are encouraged to avoid parking on the highway and use alternative routes to reduce traffic snarls. Residents are calling for stricter action against obstructive parking to ensure safer roads for commuters. The initiative is part of the ‘Liveable Kochi’ campaign to improve the overall traffic situation in the city.
