P.V. Anvar joins anti-mining protest at Thottappally

Independent legislator P.V. Anvar visited Thottappally to support the ongoing protest by the KGVES against mineral sand-mining. He stated that his outfit, the DMK, would actively lead the protest and seek to join the case in the Supreme Court. Mr. Anvar also accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of blocking his previous attempts to visit the area and alleged corruption and political nexus related to the mining. The KGVES has been leading an indefinite relay satyagraha against the mining for 1,219 days.
