One-way traffic system introduced at Kalamassery HMT Junction

The HMT Junction in Kalamassery has implemented a new traffic rerouting system to ease congestion. This includes new barricades and sign boards to redirect traffic and create a one-way traffic system at the junction. The scheme is on an experimental basis for two months, with the possibility of becoming permanent if successful. Suggestions from stakeholders, including the media, are welcome. The system aims to improve traffic flow, reduce vehicle numbers on the railway overbridge, and benefit pedestrians. The Transport department will oversee the implementation, with support from officials and volunteers. Additionally, government agencies are investing in flood alleviation projects in the area.
