Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran addressed the media regarding allegations of horse-trading involving MLA Thomas K. Thomas. He mentioned that the party leadership will discuss the matter and take appropriate action. There have been demands for a judicial probe into the allegations. Saseendran also stated that he is willing to step down as Minister if asked by the party president. Thomas K. Thomas denied the allegations, calling them baseless. The controversy arose from reports of him offering money to other MLAs to join the NCP. The situation has caused division within the NCP in Kerala.
