MPI’s poultry meat processing unit at a cost of ₹10 crore soon: Minister J. Chinchurani

Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister J. Chinchurani recently inaugurated the ‘Meats and Bites’ franchise outlets of Meat Products of India in Thiruvananthapuram. The Minister announced the upcoming construction of a poultry processing unit and a waste management unit under MPI supervision. This project, part of the Kerala Chicken project, has received administrative approval and aims to promote employment and provide high-quality meat products to consumers. The government is focused on achieving self-sufficiency in milk, egg, and meat production. The ‘Meats and Bites’ outlets will offer fresh and chilled meat products to cater to consumer preferences. The initiative is part of a larger plan to expand to other districts and create more franchise opportunities.
