Milma chairman represents Indian dairy farmers at Paris meet



At the World Dairy Summit in Paris, Milma chairman K.S. Mani emphasized the importance of sustainable and smart practices in the dairy sector. He highlighted India’s vast export potential for value-added dairy products and the need to ramp up exports by leveraging government programs and exploring new markets. The summit addressed key issues such as labor shortages, technology solutions, climate change, and sustainability. Mr. Mani stressed the importance of attracting younger farmers and skilled workers to sustain growth, noting that smallholders in India are already adopting automation and digital tools. Despite challenges posed by climate change, Indian farmers are embracing sustainable practices to support rural livelihoods. Mr. Mani highlighted India’s sustainable cattle feeding system, which utilizes agricultural residues to enhance resource efficiency and minimize waste.
