In Thiruvananthapuram, two individuals were arrested with a large quantity of MDMA during a vehicle check in Punalur. The drug haul was the biggest ever reported in the Kollam rural police limits. The accused, Sooraj and Nitheesh, were found with 143 grams of MDMA worth lakhs of rupees. They have been remanded on charges under the NDPS Act. The police received a tip-off and conducted the vehicle check, leading to the arrests. The accused have been involved in the drug business for a couple of years and are also accused in other NDPS cases. Residents had raised suspicions due to their frequent trips to Bengaluru and the arrival of luxury cars at their house during odd hours.
