Maharaja’s college speed up efforts to renew autonomous status

The Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam had its autonomous status renewed in 2014-15, but it was recently brought to light that this status had expired in 2020. The college authorities are now working to expedite the renewal process, with the help of Mahatma Gandhi University. Despite allegations of misconduct by the Save University Campaign Committee, the college management maintains that the renewal application was submitted in 2021 after an assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. They assure that the renewal process is underway and should be completed soon, retroactively covering the years since 2020-21.
