Kerala Water Authority to charge new pipelines on Attukal-Mettukada stretch in capital on September 24

The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has started giving advance alerts about pipeline-related works and repairs that may cause water supply disruptions. This decision comes after a recent five-day water supply crisis in Thiruvananthapuram city. The KWA issued an alert on September 19 for a supply disruption on September 24 due to new supply lines being connected along the Althara-Mettukada route. This is part of the KWA’s revised standard operating procedure to inform the public, local bodies, and district administration about planned works seven days in advance. The affected areas on September 24 will include Vazhuthacaud, Udarasiromani Road, Palottukonam, and others.
