The Vice Chancellor of Kerala University called for an emergency meeting to address a recent incident where a girl student was attacked on the Kariavattom campus. The police recommended increased security measures, so the university decided to install CCTV cameras on all campus roads, in front of hostels, and at the main gates. The decision was made after consulting with campus officials, police, and student representatives. The police also urged students to be more cautious and avoid being on campus during late hours to prevent violence.
