Kerala must declare itself backward to secure more funds: Union Minister George Kurian

Union Minister George Kurian suggested that Kerala should declare itself as backward in education, infrastructure, and social welfare if it wants more funds from the Centre. In response, CPM state secretary M V Govindan criticized Kurian’s remarks, stating that Kerala should focus on further development instead of going backward.
