Muhammad Khasim PK, a leader of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), is taking legal action against the Kerala Police for delaying the investigation into a fake ‘kafir’ message falsely attributed to him during the Vadakara Lok Sabha election. The court has directed the police to submit reports on the investigation and forensic examination of mobile phones by November 22. Khasim had approached the High Court earlier for a fair investigation, but despite the court’s orders, there has been no progress. The police have not withdrawn the FIR against Khasim, even though they found no evidence connecting him to the fake message. The investigation seems to have hit a roadblock, with the police unable to trace the origin of the screenshot.
