Islanders in Goshree are frustrated with the delay in building a 350-metre road to the Pizhala-Moolampilly bridge and are planning a day-and-night protest. They feel the Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) has been apathetic towards their demands. The protest, led by the Pizhala 350-Metre Road Connectivity Samithi, will be inaugurated by former Kerala High Court judge Kemal Pasha. The residents are demanding action and have warned of locking the GIDA office gate in protest. Finally, after a meeting with the District Collector, a deadline has been set for the completion of the road and a committee has been formed to monitor the progress. Residents are hopeful that their demands will finally be met.
