Internal Complaints Committees will be made mandatory in movie sets: Women’s Commission

The Chairperson of the Kerala Women’s Commission, P. Sathidevi, emphasized the importance of having Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) on every movie set in the State to protect women from harassment. Despite a court order, many sets are not following this rule. She also highlighted the need for better implementation of laws like IPC 498 A and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The Commission is actively working to ensure that women in coastal areas receive the benefits of various projects and can seek help if needed. The recommendations from a recent camp will be compiled into a report for the State government.
