Health survey reveals 9L at cancer risk | Thiruvananthapuram News



A recent survey in Kerala found that nine lakh people are at risk of cancer, but only 1.5 lakh agreed to undergo screening. The health minister emphasized the importance of early detection, especially for breast cancer, which has a higher incidence rate in Kerala compared to the rest of India. She highlighted the need for individuals, especially those above 40, to undergo regular screenings as recommended by the World Health Organization. The Karunya Sandesh Yatra, led by Nisha Jose, aims to raise awareness about early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
