The state health department has launched a campaign called ‘Aarogyam Anandam-Akattam Arbutham’ for cancer prevention and treatment. Screening facilities have been set up in hospitals across the state, starting with a mega camp in the state capital. Health minister Veena George visited the camp where expert teams conducted screenings for cancer and lifestyle diseases. The first phase of the campaign focuses on women, with free screenings for breast and cervical cancer for those below the poverty line. The minister urged all health workers to conduct screenings to ensure early diagnosis and treatment.
