Greens raise concerns over seaplane project at Mattupetty dam

Wild elephants are a common sight near the Mattupetty dam reservoir in Munnar, but concerns have been raised about the trial run of a seaplane service from Kochi to the dam. Environmentalists argue that the project will disturb the wildlife in the area, particularly the wild elephants that rely on the dam for water. The proposed project is said to violate the Supreme Court’s directives protecting national parks and eco-sensitive zones. The forest department is monitoring the situation to ensure minimal disruption to the elephants and other wildlife in the area.
