The Leader of the Opposition, V.D. Satheesan, criticized the State government for using the Waqf land issue to benefit the BJP in Kerala. He pointed out that the Munambam land was not originally Waqf property, but was purchased from Farook College. Satheesan accused the government of having double standards and being in cahoots with the BJP. He called for the government to resolve the dispute through an all-party meeting and urged them to stop playing a double role. Satheesan also dismissed the idea that the Central government’s Waqf Amendment Bill would solve the issue, stating that it was the Waqf Board chairman who caused the problem.
