Govt declares Nileshwar firecracker accident as State-Specific Disaster

The Kerala government has declared the firecracker accident at Anjoottambalam Veerar Kavu Temple a State-Specific Disaster after four people died and over 150 were injured. The District Collector has been instructed to provide relief assistance based on the degree of disability, with costs covered by the State Disaster Response Fund. Emergency response measures will be funded with Rs 2 lakh from the SDRF, and ex-gratia will be provided to victims. A detailed proposal and list of eligible persons under treatment will be submitted for further assistance.
