Former revenue officials sentenced in vigilance case



Two former revenue officials in Thiruvananthapuram were sentenced to prison for corrupt activities related to land acquisition almost twenty years ago. Divakaran Pillai and S. Rajagopal were found guilty of misappropriating funds and forging documents during a highway development project. Divakaran received a 12-year prison sentence and a fine of ₹2.35 lakh, while Rajagopal was sentenced to six years in prison and a fine of ₹1.35 lakh. The verdict was delivered by the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court on September 30, 2024.
