The Leader of the Opposition in Kerala, V.D. Satheesan, criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for threatening to sue the media for spreading false information. Satheesan called for action against the Communist Party of India (Marxist) mouthpiece for vilifying political opponents and spreading disinformation. He also demanded that Vijayan step down as Home Minister for failing to get a report on the alleged sabotage of the Thrissur Pooram event. Satheesan accused Vijayan of being silent on key issues and questioned his involvement in incidents involving senior police officials and RSS leaders. He also criticized the CPI(M) mouthpiece for falsely accusing political opponents and endorsing claims of conmen.
