Family seeks action against district panchayat president in ADM Naveen Babu’s death

Congress leaders and workers protested in front of the District panchayat office in Kannur after the death of Additional District Magistrate Naveen Babu. His brother lodged a complaint alleging that CPI(M) leader P.P. Divya’s false allegations led to his suicide. The BJP called for a hartal and both BJP and Congress demanded Divya’s resignation. The police registered a case of unnatural death but have not yet decided on abetment charges. Naveen Babu’s family demands justice and a thorough investigation into the events leading to his death. The cremation has been postponed for post-mortem procedures, and political figures have paid their respects. Ms. Divya has not yet addressed the allegations against her.
