Former Youth Congress State secretary A.K. Shanib, who was recently expelled from the Congress due to indiscipline, has announced his decision to contest in the Palakkad by-election on November 13. Shanib mentioned that he will be submitting his nomination on Thursday and clarified that his candidacy is not to support the BJP but to defeat the Congress candidate Rahul Mamkootathil. He stated that many Congress supporters unhappy with the current party leadership have reached out to him and assured their support. Shanib also criticized Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan and MP Shafi Parambil for their arrogance and undemocratic behavior, claiming that they have damaged the party.
