Independent legislator P.V. Anvar has announced the launch of a new social organization called the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK), inspired by DMK leader M.K. Stalin. The DMK in Kerala will focus on championing the cause of ordinary people and acting as a check on power. Anvar’s move is seen as an attempt to gather discontents from mainstream parties and potentially become a game changer in upcoming elections. His defiance against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has caused turmoil within the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), with Anvar vowing to take the fight across Kerala.
