Ernakulam DTPC’s plan to procure buses for package tours remains a non-starter

The Ernakulam DTPC has been facing challenges in operating package tours due to the pandemic, with a luxury bus sitting idle and needing expensive repairs. The council is considering returning the bus to Kerala Tourism or selling it off. Other DTPCs in neighbouring districts have resumed their tours, but Ernakulam is looking for more cost-effective alternatives. In the meantime, efforts to renovate the Durbar Hall Ground are underway, with funds offered by CSML. Weeds on the ground have been cleared after criticism from visitors, highlighting the ongoing efforts to improve tourism in the area.
