Efforts to erase Gandhi’s memory still on, says T. Padmanabhan

Writers T. Padmanabhan and N.S. Madhavan, along with academic Dr. P.K. Abdul Aziz, spoke at a seminar on Gandhi organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi becoming president of the Congress. Padmanabhan highlighted the ongoing efforts to erase Gandhi’s memory and disown his legacy in India. He noted the scarcity of Gandhi stamps in post offices as an example of this. Madhavan discussed Gandhi’s role in addressing caste discrimination in Kerala and emphasized the need for his principles in today’s society, where caste-based violence still finds support on social media. The speakers praised Gandhi for uniting India and urged for his vision to be recognized and upheld in the present times.
