Cyber forensics to examine IAS official’s phone, mail sent to Google



The police team investigating the complaint of Kerala IAS officer K Gopalakrishnan, who said his phone was hacked to create religion-based WhatsApp groups, has reached out to Google and WhatsApp for information on any external links or apps that may have been activated on the phone. Cyber forensics will examine Gopalakrishnan’s phone to determine if it was hacked. Gopalakrishnan explained to group members that his phone was hacked after a controversial WhatsApp group was created using his number. The police commissioner mentioned that they are working with WhatsApp and Google to track any suspicious activity on the phone. They are also analyzing the phone for any third-party links or unauthorized access.
