The CPM state secretary M V Govindan stated that there will be no party probe against CM’s political secretary P Sasi based on allegations made by CPM-backed independent MLA P V Anvar. Anvar did not mention Sasi in his written complaint and later confirmed this by releasing the complaint to the media. Govindan emphasized that the party is not responsible for Anvar’s public statements and there is no evidence against Sasi in the complaint submitted to the party. The party is confident in the police inquiry into the allegations made by Anvar against police officers and dismissed concerns about the effectiveness of the probe. Govindan also refuted allegations made by opposition leader V D Satheesan and accused a section of the media of spreading anti-Communist party messages. The CPM state secretariat expressed dissatisfaction with the way Anvar raised the allegations publicly.
