Two astrophotography enthusiasts from Thiruvananthapuram captured images of the long-period comet C/2023 A3, which is currently visible in the eastern sky before sunrise. Fahd Bin Abdul Hasis and Kiran Mohan, scientists at ISRO’s LPSC facility, used a Z 6II camera with a Samyang 135 mm lens to photograph the comet. The comet, discovered in 2023, is expected to vanish for 80,000 years after it leaves Earth’s skies. It is one of the brightest comets seen in the last decade and is visible as a fuzzy ball to those with good eyesight. The comet will be visible for a few more days before fading from view.
