CMFRI develops eco-friendly fish feed using black soldier fly larvae

The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) has created an eco-friendly fish feed using black soldier fly larvae meal to reduce dependence on traditional fishmeal. The technology has been transferred to Amala Ecoclean for large-scale production, aiming to benefit fish farmers across India. The innovative feed promotes sustainability and cost-effectiveness in aquaculture by improving growth rates and reducing costs. This collaboration addresses environmental concerns such as waste reduction and sustainable protein sources for the industry. The new feed is expected to have a positive impact on the aquaculture sector.
