Bypoll expenditure: IT dept. opens control room in Kochi

The Income Tax Department’s Investigation Directorate is working to ensure fair elections by preventing the use of black money. They have set up a 24×7 control room for the upcoming byelection in Wayanad and the Chelakkara and Palakkad Assembly constituencies. The public can report any suspicious activity related to cash, jewellery, or election expenditure through various channels such as a toll-free number, WhatsApp, or email. The informant’s identity will be kept confidential. This initiative aims to promote transparency and integrity in the electoral process.
