Kozhikode MP M.K. Raghavan criticized the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman, calling it a collection of promises made to attract voters in upcoming elections. He pointed out that the needs of Kerala were ignored once again, while Bihar received a multitude of project announcements. The Budget focused on developing airports in Bihar, while neglecting the well-performing Calicut International Airport. Tax deductions were seen as favoritism towards Delhi, with no mention of rehabilitating landslide victims in Wayanad. Bihar’s agricultural produce, Makhana, received special attention, while Kerala’s agricultural sector, including rubber, was overlooked.
