A senior staff member at the Thiruvananthapuram city corporation has been suspended for accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a building owner. The accused, Shibu K M, was identified as the charge officer at the Attipra zonal office. The suspension was ordered by the local self-govt department principal director following a preliminary investigation. The department officials have stated that further investigation will be conducted. The LSG minister has announced strict actions against corrupt individuals and mentioned the establishment of a WhatsApp number for the public to report corruption in local institutions.
