Breast cancer awareness rally on October 20

Around 5,000 people are expected to participate in Pinkathon, a series of rallies across districts in Kerala to raise awareness for breast cancer. Organized by Lions International District 318E, the event will include free breast examinations and distribution of self-examination leaflets. Dr. Avani Skandan, the district secretary, is leading the initiative to benefit underprivileged women. The campaign aims to support the World Health Organisation’s awareness initiatives and potentially set a Guinness World Record for participation. Various groups including Kudumbashree, NREGS workers, and student volunteers will attend the rallies, which will take place at multiple locations starting at 8 a.m. on October 20th.
