Boundary stone laying for Kochi Bypass likely to begin from November 4

The Kochi Bypass project is set to begin near Nettoor on the NH 66 Bypass, extending through the road leading to Maradu Market. The laying of boundary stones for the 44-km Kundannoor-Angamaly NH 544 corridor is expected to start on November 4. The NHAI issued a notification for land acquisition for the six-lane highway covering around 290 hectares. The Revenue department has requested police presence at the sites to prevent protests from landowners. The Kundannoor-Angamaly National Highway Bypass Action Council has raised concerns about land acquisition and has demanded that the process follows the guidelines of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
