Bipartisan demands for inquiry into allegations of attempts to purchase LDF MLAs

The Nationalist Congress Party’s alleged bid to “purchase” two Left Democratic Front legislators in Maharashtra has caused a stir in the state’s political scene. There are bipartisan calls for an inquiry into the matter, with parties like CPI, NCP-Saradchandra Pawar, and UDF supporting the demand. RSP-Leninist leader Kovoor Kunjumon revealed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had inquired about the alleged move by NCP-SP MLA Thomas K. Thomas. Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan accused the Chief Minister of not taking action despite knowledge of the situation. NCP leader A.K. Saseendran stated that the party would discuss the allegations and take appropriate action. CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam emphasized the need for a proper investigation in the LDF meeting, stating that such behaviors cannot be tolerated in dignified politics.
