Despite growing opposition to the Anakkampoyil-Meppadi tunnel road project following recent landslides, the State government is determined to proceed. Dilip Buildcon Limited and Royal Infra Construct have been awarded contracts for construction. Environmental clearances have been obtained, and the Central government has given approval. However, concerns about human-animal conflicts and the impact on the environment persist.
