The development of a 1.5-km stretch from Balaramapuram to Vazhimukku as part of the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila Road project is facing uncertainty due to the state government’s delay in providing sufficient funds for compensation to landowners. While compensation has started for some landowners, not all have been paid due to a lack of funds. The Kerala Road Fund Board has requested additional funds from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board for compensation, but the release of funds is pending. The land acquisition process has been delayed, and previous plans for an underpass at Balaramapuram Junction have been scrapped due to opposition.
