Amarakkuni Tigress begins journey to Thiruvananthapuram for better medical care

The Amarakkuni tigress, previously housed at the Animal Hospice in Wayanad, was relocated to Thiruvananthapuram Zoo for better treatment. The tigress had lost its teeth and was unable to hunt, so it was targeting goats in the area. The relocation was approved by the Chief Wildlife Warden and carried out by a specially designed Animal Ambulance. The team traveled at night to avoid traffic and reduce stress on the animal. Once the tigress settles in Thiruvananthapuram, another tiger from the hospice will also be relocated.
