Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently began an inspection of railway infrastructure in the Aluva-Shornur corridor aboard a special inspection train. He is accompanied by several senior officials, including the General Manager of Southern Railway and the Divisional Railway Manager of Thiruvananthapuram Division. The focus of the inspection is to review key developments on the 107-km double-track corridor and plan for the installation of a third track and automatic signal system to increase track capacity. The Minister will also assess ongoing station redevelopment projects to improve service quality and efficiency. The inspection aims to ensure timely completion of projects and enhance railway services in the region.
