A 68-year-old man named Vikraman has been sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing a six-year-old girl. He has also been fined ₹60,000, with an additional six months of imprisonment if he fails to pay. He will serve an additional 14 years of imprisonment, with all sentences running concurrently. Special Judge Rekha R. delivered the verdict, with Special Public prosecutor R.S. Vijay Mohan representing the Prosecution. Vikraman is also accused of abusing the victim’s nine-year-old sister. The incidents occurred in 2020 and 2021 while the children were under their grandmother’s care. The abuse was discovered by local authorities who were alerted by an ASHA worker and Anganwadi teacher.
