Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal addressed the issue of incorrect packaging dates on mushroom packets found during an FSSAI inspection at a Hyperpure warehouse in Hyderabad. The vendor responsible for the error has been delisted, and Goyal explained that the mistake was due to a manual typing error. He emphasized that the rejected packets were never going to reach customers and praised Hyperpure’s food safety standards, pointing out that the warehouse had received an A+ rating. Goyal also expressed frustration at the focus on this isolated incident, suggesting that some may benefit from negative publicity at Zomato’s expense.
