With polls, Sena groups go for the jugular at Dasara rallies

The Dasara rallies in Maharashtra turned into a heated face-off between Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde, both leaders of different factions of the Shiv Sena party. Thackeray was pitched as the CM candidate for the upcoming State Assembly election, while Shinde criticized his Chief Ministerial aspirations. Thackeray also targeted the BJP, accusing them of power-hungry tactics and promising to build temples of Chhatrapati Shivaji in every district if elected. The rally also marked Aaditya Thackeray’s first speech, where he criticized the government and its ties to industrialist Gautam Adani. Shinde, on the other hand, emphasized Hindutva and development under his leadership. The event highlighted internal party tensions and political ambitions in Maharashtra.
