Why this Delhi band is struggling to find rehearsal space for Ramlila performances | Delhi News

A group of musicians in Delhi, known as Ravi Band, is facing challenges in finding a suitable rehearsal space for their Ramlila performances. They have been practicing at Sanjay Jheel for 15 years, but were recently prohibited from rehearsing there. Now, they are forced to practice in a forest area near Mayur Vihar. The band was founded in 1986 by Haji Puttan, a rickshaw driver with a passion for playing the trumpet. His son Zakir Hussain now leads the group. Despite the obstacles, they are working hard to compose music for their performances. During rehearsals, a pet goat named “Samsung” joins in the dancing. The band is determined to continue playing and creating new music for Ramlila.
