Upset over ‘police apathy’, man sets govt vehicle on fire in Karnataka | Bengaluru News



In Chitradurga, a man named Prithviraj set fire to the Challakere tahsildar’s vehicle out of frustration when the police did not accept his mother’s complaint. He poured petrol on the engine but was quickly stopped by the tahsildar’s office staff. The police arrived, arrested Prithviraj, and charged him with causing damage to government property. The staff requested protection from the DySP while carrying out their duties. Prithviraj had also made threats on social media to target government buildings. Tahsildar Rehan Pasha confirmed that a case was registered against Prithviraj and he had signed a bond promising not to repeat such acts.
