In Palakkad, candidates Rahul Mamkootathil from United Democratic Front and P. Sarin from Left Democratic Front have submitted their nominations for the upcoming Assembly byelection. Mamkootathil filed his papers after visiting temples and was supported by a rally with various UDF leaders. Sarin also filed his nomination with a procession from the CPI(M) district committee office. Both candidates were accompanied by supporters and party members. BJP candidate C. Krishnakumar had filed his nomination earlier. The election is set for November 13.
