Two Indian Navy women officers set to circumnavigate the globe on INSV Tarini | Delhi News



Lt Commanders Roopa A and Dilna K from the Indian Navy are preparing for a global circumnavigation onboard INSV Tarini after three years of intensive training. Lt Commander Dilna K, following in her late father’s footsteps who served in the Indian Army, and Lt Commander Roopa A, with a military legacy from her father who served in the Indian Air Force, have been rigorously training under the mentorship of Commander Abhilash Tomy (retd). The Indian Navy has been focusing on revitalizing its sailing traditions, with INSV Tarini being historically significant for its first all-women crew circumnavigation in 2017.
