TTD Increases Nandini Ghee Supply Amid Controversy Over Laddu Quality | Bengaluru News

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust faced controversy over the use of adulterated ghee in its laddu prasada, leading them to increase procurement of Nandini pure cow ghee from Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). TTD had previously awarded the supply contract to private dairies but reverted to KMF after the controversy. KMF has received orders to supply additional ghee to TTD and is also supplying to other religious institutions in Karnataka. The ghee is made with care from raw materials sourced from specific regions and is known for its quality and aroma. KMF has installed GPS trackers on its tankers to ensure safe delivery, and TTD is procuring ghee at Rs 475 per kg. The famous Tirupati laddus are made using Nandini ghee and have a GI tag.
