A tragic incident occurred in Ahmedabad when three-year-old Preeti Katara fell into a 10-foot pit at a housing unit demolition site in Vatva and passed away. The pit had been dug by a contractor during the ongoing demolition of houses built by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the economically weaker section. Katara was playing near her home when she fell into the pit, and despite efforts to find her, she was found too late. Locals believe the pit had not been filled properly, leading to the tragedy. The police have registered a complaint of accidental death, and AMC officials are investigating the incident.
