TISS ‘honour code’ for students: ‘Won’t participate in political, anti-establishment, unpatriotic discussions, dharnas’ | Mumbai News

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has implemented a new ‘honour code’ this year that restricts students from engaging in political, anti-establishment, or unpatriotic activities on campus. This has led to concerns among students, especially considering recent incidents such as the banning of a student collective group. The university has also come under the jurisdiction of the union ministry of education, leading to stricter regulations. Some students and alumni, including Medha Patkar, feel that this code goes against constitutional rights and may escalate tensions between the administration and students. They advocate for more dialogue and mediation to address conflicts on campus.
